Following a competition for a cultural project involving 12 entrants, Thun district council decided to award Hall 6 of the Selve area to daskonzept.
This is now the setting for a centre of competence for architectural design and culture.
In the raised centre part, a cultural area is being created for up to 500 people, including all the technical equipment required for holding plays and congresses.
A restaurant is housed in the foyer: the rest of the space – exceeding 2,000m2 - is reserved for the major furniture labels such as USM, Vitra and Designarchiv. An art gallery is being created in the air space and interspace.
The exhibition opend in november 2009.
